What is “My Health Can’t Wait”?

My Health Can’t Wait is a community wellness initiative that connects people of color in the U.S. with vital health information and resources.

We meet people where they are and empower individuals to advocate for their health.

We sponsor events where people can find health education and partner-led screenings. With the help of local community-based organizations, My Health Can’t Wait events have reached over 100,000 people, delivered 16,000 partner-led health screenings and distributed 35,000 packets of educational materials in communities of color.

My Health Can’t Wait also supports initiatives that spotlight health issues affecting communities of color.

What health resources are available on this site, and where can I find them?

Why was My Health Can’t Wait created?

In the U.S., the COVID-19 pandemic and its economic impact hit communities of color hardest.

Many patients put off healthcare. This can harm health, lower quality of life and lead to other negative outcomes.

In 2020, Johnson & Johnson MedTech launched My Health Can’t Wait to educate and inspire people to prioritize their health.

My Health Can’t Wait also partnered with Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine to hold community wellness events in six cities where people face health disparities. These events provided thousands of people with education and partner-led health screenings.

My Health Can’t Wait also supported tailored research, PSAs and a pilot program in Illinois.

Now, we are scaling up these efforts. We are doing more outreach, building educational resources and expanding partnerships.

What is Johnson & Johnson’s commitment to Health Equity?

Johnson & Johnson is committed to closing health gaps for people of color and advancing racial health equity across the United States.

At the heart of Johnson & Johnson’s enduring commitment to racial health equity is our desire to create a world where the color of your skin does not determine your access to care, quality of care or health outcomes.

To enable better health outcomes for everyone, we focus on three approaches:

Community-based health solutions
We seek to make community-centered care the norm. We support and collaborate with community health centers, community health workers, national associations and grassroots organizations to empower patients, strengthen community-based services and support individuals to make informed decisions about their health through resources and education.

Culturally sensitive care
We support programs that increase the diversity of the healthcare workforce and the incoming talent pipeline so that patients of color are met with quality, empathetic care.

Inclusive research and representative clinical trials
We select diverse locations and patient participants in our research and clinical trials and incorporate equity into our end-to-end therapy and device design.
